This piece was created during a deeply transformative chapter of my life. After moving through the end of a marriage, I embarked on a two-year journey around the world, living out of a backpack and following the quiet call of freedom and rediscovery.
Moonrise Over Mazunte was captured on a full moon night in a small, barefoot beach town on the Oaxacan coast. With no phone, no shoes, and no agenda, I laid under the stars with a love of mine, listening to the ocean kiss the cliffs, watching the moon rise like a silver flame over the horizon.
Shot on film, the image is intentionally soft, blurred—mirroring the way memory often lingers: imperfect but luminous. This portrait of the moon holds not just light, but liberation. It is a visual love letter to simplicity, presence, and the quiet, romantic moments that carry us home to ourselves.
